The Castle of Falconara is high on a cliff overlooking the sea and is flanked by exotic palm trees. It is built in different eras. The original structure consists of a large square tower which the gentlemen of Falconara used to live. State that the castle has a long history, solid, though not all details clear. Various names and dates are obsolete. In 1540 Sir Ambrose Santapau Branciforte was given the title of Prince of Butera and became the owner of this castle. After several follow-ups came around 1800 in the hands of Count Wilding, a German officer. When he died, the castle went to his brother Ernesto. Who sold the castle during the uprising of 1848, Baron Antonio Chiaramonte Bordonaro. On October 18, 1932 Ugone di Santapau, received descendant of the noble family Adamara the tower from King Martin of Aragon, as a reward for his efforts. Today it is again owned by the grandson of Baron Antonio Chiaramonte Bordonaro.bij the castle is a wonderful natural swimming lake for those who prefer fresh water.
