For summer rental: Country house with large pool in the heart of the French
Basque Country
This family house is for rent for the first time from a French-Basque-American family.
It is located 10 mns walking distance from the center of Saint Jean Pied de Port, a
famous stop on the Saint Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage (Way of Saint James),
at the foot of the mountains, the last stop before crossing to Spain. Small heaven for
mountain lovers, hikers, bikers, rafters, but also sea lovers (Basque coast, e.g.,
Biarritz 50 min drive). The house is part of a large property with superb view of the
mountains, surrounded by substantial land and equipped with a uniquely large pool
(17 m x 5 m) filled with spring water and with a large terrace. It has 4 bedrooms (3
adults + 1 for two children with bunk beds), 3 bathrooms. It can sleep 8 people;
kitchen is entirely renovated; plancha and barbecue available as well as washing
machine, dryer and dish washer.
The property includes a second house where a caretaker lives who is available for
help and in case of emergency.
House is available for rental from Mid-May till October (pool will be functional from
second half of June until end of September); prices vary between 800 euros/week
(without pool) and 1500 euros/week.
